Join Cass for a 3 day Yoga Intensive exploring the intricacies of Ashtanga Yoga which when combined with the healing practices of Yin Yoga will enable the blue print of a balanced practice. Throughout the weekend we shall explore the concept of balance both on and off the mat and how we can use our yoga practice to formulate a more balanced life.
The intention is to create balance, to restore physical and emotional energy centres and allow you to become clearer in your vision. This workshop will run over the Full Moon in Libra (known as the Virgo Full Moon).
'I practice self-love and self-care that feeds my body,
mind and spirit'
Friday 22nd March 7pm - 8.30pm ‘Connection’
A 90min practice to develop breath awareness and connection to ourselves and
our environment. An introduction to the opening postures of Ashtanga, which
will be rounded with a 30min yin and meditation practice.
Saturday 23rd March 9am - 10.30am ‘Still Point’
Exploring practices for cultivating a balanced mind. Day to day steadiness can sometimes feel like balancing on uneven ground. Using the foundation postures of Ashtanga we will explore how creating a steady foundation will keep you steady even when things feel unstable.
3pm - 5.30pm ‘Float’
Learn to float from Tittibhasana to Bakasana which comes in the second half of the Ashtanga Primary Series and is often a major block for Ashtangi’s. We will use props and learn to love the process so that shining in the pose is not so much about form, but our own unique approach.
The last portion of the class will be spent honouring our bodies and our experiences whilst stimulating the meridian lines which flow through the back of the body.
Sunday 24th March 11am - 3pm ‘Balance’
A four hour session which will be separated into a whole body practice (75min Ashtanga LED
practice) followed by a 30min break to rehydrate, nourish your body and work through some
creative processes. The final yin sequence will explore balance in the body and how that
relates to balance in the mind.
