What drew you to working at The Space?
I had connected with Cas in her sisters in circle event, and watched the emergence of the Space yoga studio. When I started teaching kids yoga I wanted to offer it at the Space to extend the benefits of yoga to kids in the light bright studio, and it fitted with what Cas was offering, yoga for everyone. What has been the greatest lesson you have learnt as a teacher? The greatest lesson so far has been my yogic pathway itself, as I continue my teacher training in all aspects of yoga. Kids yoga, well that has taught me that our little yogis are naturally peaceful and joyful. Curiosity, enjoyment, a bit of challenge and laughter creates the best learning.
What has been the biggest gift you have received from teaching yoga?
The biggest gift is feeling my heart space energise when I teach a room full of kids at the Space. Accessing my playfulness, letting my inner child loose, while intertwining with mindful practice and yoga is really a recipe for life! If you could teach the world one thing, what would it be? It would be to be true to yourself, and that you have a beauty and innocence that sparkles, when we get out of our own way. Learning the observer mind, also known as the buddha mind, allows the flow of emotion, energy and responses to serve their purpose, and to be met with more equanimity.
Describe yourself in one sentence. I am kind, courageous and curious on a quest to live my brightest life.
What is your vision for the classes you teach at The Space? To bring awareness with kids of their body, mind and breath in a fun and active way, helping to start a life long love of yoga.
